Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Abdel Wahed Mohamed Nour, has announced the postponement of the launch of its comprehensive peace initiative, which it announced in January.

The Struggle  movement said that it had announced earlier an initiative to hold a comprehensive peace conference in Sudan, but the humanitarian conditions the world is currently experiencing due to the spread of the Corona epidemic, and the exceptional measures taken by countries of the world to prevent the spread of the disease, forced the movement to postpone the announcement of the launch of this initiative.

In a statement extended to Darfur 24, the spokesman of the armed struggle movement said that the announcement of the initiative would be through  a press conference to which satellite channels, news agencies, local, regional and international press are invited and all who are interested in the Sudanese issue, but, given the spread of COVID-19, the  current enviroment is not coducive for  holding a press conference

The movement expressed its deep regret for postponing the announcement of its initiative due to the current humanitarian conditions.

“We express our deepest apology to the Sudanese people, the political, revolutionary, civil, religious, and resistance committees as well as  all the Sudanese who are  interested in the initiative, and our regional and international friends”added the movement’s.

The movement’s spokesperson has  passed condolences to families of  thousands of victims a round the world   who have lost their lives as a result of COVID-19 epidemic.
