April 28, 2020 (Khartoum) The joint African Union and United Nations mission in Darfur, UNAMID has decided to allocate a plane to transport specimens of suspected Coronavirus cases, from Darfur to the central laboratory in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum. However, the decision to allocate the plane was taken after recording two cases of COVID-19 in the states of East and Central Darfur.

Meanwhile, Director General of Health and Social Development in North Darfur, Dr. Sulaiman Adam Idris, told Darfur 24 that UNAMID had decided to allocate a plane to transport all specimens for testing
coronavirus suspects, from Darfur to the capital Khartoum, and that the plane would remain in a state of readiness at El Fasher International Airport to transport the samples when requestedIt is expected that the plane will transport Tuesday, specimen of one of the suspected cases of coronavirus from the city of El Fasher for testing at the central laboratory, in the capital Khartoum
