The Sudanese army on Wednesday, accused the Sudan Liberation Movement and the Revolutionary Awakening Council of carrying out a military attack on its forces in Jebel Marra in Darfur.
A statement by the media advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Taher Abuhaja, did not specify any of the armed movements bearing the name of “Sudan Liberation”, as there is more than one armed movement carrying the name, the most prominent of which is headed by Abdel Wahid Mohamed Nour, and another by Minni Arko Minawi.

However, the Awakening Council has is chaired by Musa Hilal, who has been detained by the army for nearly three years.
In a statement  extended to Darfur 24, Sudanese army  condemned the attack,  describing it as a terrorist and criminal, affirming that Sudan’s army preserve rights to protect citizens, and  take measures to clean up the hotbeds of the threat so as to prevent recurrence of such attacks.
