June 7, 2020 (Khartoum) The Sudanese government stressed the need to
reach an agreement between the countries of the Renaissance Dam on
operating   and  filling the Dam, noting the importance of the daily
exchange of data, due to the proximity of Lake Raiseris to the
Renaissance Dam.
However, Foreign Affairs Minister, Asma Abdallah, confirmed that 90
percent of the files of the Renaissance Dam negotiations have been
resolved.
In an interview with Sudan State TV, Abdallah called for the
resumption of negotiations on the issue of the Renaissance Dam from
where it stopped, saying that Sudan believes that the existing
problems are solved only by resuming negotiations, and filling the dam
by consensus between the three countries.
For his part, the Sudanese Minister of Irrigation, Dr. Yasser Abbas,
called for an agreement before filling the dam, saying that Ethiopia
has the right to development but without causing harm to others,
principles of operation are essential and necessary.
