October 11, 2020 (Nyala) Governor of South Darfur, Musa Mahdi, has acknowledged the presence of masses of armed men from the Ta`aisha and Fallata tribes in the disputed border areas between the two parties in the localities of Raheed Al-Bardi and Umm Dafuq on one side, and Talus
and Damsu on the other side.

The border areas between the Fallata and Ta’aisha tribes in the southwest of the state have been experiencing tensions since the beginning of this year due to the dispute over the Majangari area,
where clashes took place between the two tribes late July, in which scores of people were killed and wounded.

“There are gatherings of armed people from the two sides, and we have sent joint forces to these areas in order to impose state authority and prevent any conflict between the two parties” Musa Mahdi said.

Mahdi stated that he had spoken with both the Nazirs  of Fallata and Taasha, and told them that he would not allow any violation of the law to happen and that he would hold them responsible for what would happen and they would be held accountable.
