The independent investigation committee researching the violent break-up of the sit-in in front of the army command in Khartoum on June 3, announced that it has started its work in a number of states..

However, the committee which  headed by the prominent human rights lawyer Nabil Adib, has investigated many people in the states  of Senar, White Nile and North Kordofan.

The violent dismantling of the sit-in in front of the army command in Khartoum on June 3, also known as the Ramadan 29 massacre, caused the death of 127 people. About 700 protesters and others present at the sit-in that day were injured.

The committee questioned a number of leaders of the ruling coalition, the Forces for Freedom and Change, and the military component – the former military council  of the transitional government, with the exception of the head of the Sovereignty Council and his deputy, who have yet to set the dates for their interrogation.

Sudanese Prime minister Abdallah Hamdouk hid ordered  formation of the  investigation commission into the violent dismantling of the sit-in in front of the military command in Khartoum on June 3.
