July 4, 2021 ( Zalengie )USAID has provided a financial grant to implement a number of drinking water projects in the state of Central Darfur, as part of the Water for Peace Program in Sudan, which is supported by the American people.

Officials with the American aid indicated that the financial grant amounting to “161,903” dollars is allocated for the establishment of 25 units for water harvesting, in addition to areas for pastures.

The Central Darfur government organized Saturday  an enlightenment workshop for the sectors targeted by drinking water projects, and state government officials said that the USAID grant aims to establish 25 water harvesting projects, including 18 dams and 7 pits, in addition to rehabilitating and expanding some swamps around the paths and transitions of pastoralists, and grazing areas estimated 10 thousand acres.

The workshop targeted 40 participants from cadres and government employees in drinking water-related institutions in the state.
