21.12. 2021 (Khartoum) The Director of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women ,Salma Ishaq , said her unit documented two cases of gang rape against women in their early twenties.
Salma Ishaq added that the rape cases occurred during the dispersal of the December 19 processions.
Salma exclusively told Darfur 24 that one of the rape victims had filed a case against the rapists.
“one of the two rape cases required surgical intervention, but the health status of the two cases is under control” Salma further added.
The Director of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women referred to widespread cases of harassment during the procession .
