Two employees of the International Committee of the Red Cross were killed and three others were injured after as they were ambushed by armed men near Jebel Marra area in the Central Darfur state.

Sources told “Darfur 24” that a team from the International Committee of the Red Cross moved Thursday, from the city of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur state, and upon arriving in the “Liba” area, east of Jebel Marra, armed men fired a barrage of bullets at them.

The sources indicated that two Sudanese employees were killed after being shot, while three others were injured and perpetrators fled.

The sources stated that the team consisted of 9 employees, including foreigners who were on an official mission to the eastern Jebel Marra area.
