A high-ranking military source in the Sixth Infantry Division and close to the training of the forces that were recently graduated in the area of Jrid Al-Sil said that there is clear discontent among the graduates because of the financial obligations.

The source stated that the forces had officially informed him that the governor of North Darfur was aware of the entitlements of the soldiers in dollars.

On the other hand, a leading source within the Protection of Civilian Forces revealed the failure of the Ministry of Finance of North Darfur state to fulfill a financial commitment donated by the state’s governor to five soldiers of the Protection Forces in conjunction with their graduation as incentives, while the government of North Darfur state denied its commitment to any financial incentives for the civilian protection forces in Darfur .

The Juba Peace Agreement provided for the formation of a joint force of the armed struggle movements and the regular forces of 16,000 soldiers, but despite the lapse of about two years from the signing of the agreement, two thousand soldiers from the movements’ forces have so far been trained and graduated, and the joint force has not been formed to deploy it throughout Darfur to carry out protection tasks.
