El-Fahir, October 4(Darfurt24)  several  of organizations working in the humanitarian field in the Sartoni camp for the displaced people  near the city of Kabkabiya, 136 kilometers west of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, announced on Tuesday the evacuation of their staff from the IDP camp after hundreds of displaced people fled due to security concerns.

The Director of the Water and Environmental Sanitation Project, a governmental institution, Engineer Ismail Mohamed Ahmed, told Darfur 24 that they had received reports from some organizations working in the humanitarian field in Sortony camp, including the Save the  Children, confirming that the displaced people had fled the camp.

He explained that the reasons for the IDPs  fleeing  the camp , according to the reports of the organizations that were presented at a joint meeting of the government ,is that a car belonging to the Rapid Support Forces RSFwas stolen, and he stated that the RSF gave the camp’s displaced people between returning the stolen car or attacking them, forcing the IDPs to flee to different areas.

Multiple sources from UNICEF and Kobe confirmed to Darfur 24 the fleeing of the displaced, in addition to the humanitarian organizations evacuating their staff from the camp for the same security concerns.
