Jebel Marra, November 25 darfur24) New armed confrontations between a faction loyal to the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Abdel Wahid Nour, in eastern Jebel Marra, resulted in the death of 40 people from both sides.

 

A security official in the Rokro local government in Jebel Marra stated that armed confrontations broke out between the Rapid Support Forces and the forces of Abdel Wahid Nour last Sunday in the areas of Sabanga,Daya, and Amu,” which continued until Tuesday, killing and injuring dozens.

 

The military spokesman for the Sudan Liberation Movement, Walid Tongo, did not deny the occurrence of the confrontations, and told Darfur 24 that he would provide more details in the coming hours.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs in Sudan, Osha, reported on Thursday that dozens were killed, kidnapped, and missing, as a result of the renewed conflict between two factions of the Abdul Wahid Nour movement in eastern Jebel Marra.

 

In a statement seen by Darfur 24, the office said that local officials reported  killing of 13,  wounding of 4,  kidnapping of 6,  loss of 13 others, the displacement of 5 thousand people, as well as the denial of 32 thousand access to their farms due to insecurity, in addition to the burning of dozens of farms.

 

Areas northeast of Jebel Marra, which is controlled by the Sudan Liberation Movement, continued to witness battles, the last of which was in the Omo region on November 19, before it moved to Orshin, Daya, Sabanga, Daya and other areas until late last week.
