Nyala, December 28(Darfur24) The acting  governor of South Darfur, Hamid Muhammad al-Tijani Hanoun, issued a decision  on Wednesday  to form an investigation and fact-finding committee into the  incidents  that took place in a number of villages in Beleil locality on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

 

The fatal incident  that affected a number of villages led to the death of more than 10 people, the embarrassment of 18, and the burning of about 7 villages, in addition to the displacement of more than 16,000 people from their villages.

 

The formation of the committee came under the chairmanship of Maulana Ihab Muhammad al-Taj al-Sheikh, Maulana Samer Sami al-Azirak as alternate chairman, and the representative of the state police as rapporteur and other membership.

 

The decision entrusted the committee with the tasks and terms of reference of a comprehensive investigation into the recent events in local areas at night, and to find out the reports that were opened in the various police stations.

 

The governor instructed the committee to move to the places of incidents , to conduct investigations with all parties and hear from those who  witnessed  to the incidents, as well as to count the losses of lives, the wounded and the looted money, and to investigate with the civil administrations and seek help from them to know their role and the efforts they have made to stop these hostilities.
