El-Fashir, February 169Darfur24) An IDP community  leader in  Zamzam IDP camp in North Darfur, has revealed that two girls from the camp were raped by armed men on Wednesday and another one was shot and three others were whipped.

Ahmed Nour, a local leader in the camp, said in a statement to Darfur 24,  that armed men on camels attacked 6 girls from the Zamzam IDP camp while they were  collecting  firewood and straw.

 

Nour pointed out that two cases   were reported to   Zamzam police station, after obtaining form 8 , then the two raped girls were transferred to a health center affiliated with Doctors Without Borders in the camp.

 

While a security source at the Zamzam police station revealed that a joint force tracked down the armed perpetrators until Damra Qalab, located in the vicinity of the Kulqi area, and pointed out that  mayor, Ramadan Aziraq, the mayor of Qallab, confirmed to the joint force that the perpetrators were handed over to the authority today Thursday.

 

It is noteworthy that the vicinity of the Kolqi area witnessed relative calm in the past days after a reconciliation was signed between the Arab tribes and the Zaghawa tribe under the auspices of the Peace and Reconciliation Committee of the Rapid SupportForces   Committee in El Fasher recently.
