Nyala, June 24(Darfur24 )Clashes between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) renewed Saturday morning around 7 o’clock in Nyala the provincial capital of South Darfur state.

Residents from Nyala Northern and Southern Districts who spoke to Darfur24 said artillery shells fell in most of the city’s neighborhoods.

Fighting between the two rival forces had intensified earlier on Tuesday resulted in a killing of 4 civilians and injury of others, raising number of civilian casualties in Nyala to 107 since start of the conflict between the two generals, according to Sudan’s ministry of health.

War has extended to other parts of South Darfur state, where RSF has captured the town of Umdafok on the Sudanese-central African border and Umdokhon’s town on the Chad-Sudan border as well as Rihaid Elbirdi army garrison.

Darfur24 wasn’t able to contact Nyala teaching hospital or the Turkish hospital’s staff to verify information of injured civilians admitted on Saturday.
