Nyala, July 22(Darfur 24)12 civilians were killed and scores were injured in Nyala, the provincial capital of Southn Darfur state as fighting intensified on Friday between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces RSF.
According to residents from Nyala, bloody clashes between the two rival forces continued for several hours, after RSF attempt of incursion into areas adjacent to the army 16th division headquarters, leaving tens of dead and injured.
Darfur24 correspondent said most of the civilian casualties were in the neighborhood of Karari , Alwadi, Aljeer and Alsika Hadid.
Projectile fell on a house in Aljeer residential area a woman and two of her sons and injured Three others, a girl resides in Sika Hadid was also killed after a bomb fell on their house, in addition to death of a young man by stray bullet in Alieer district, while in Alwadi neighborhood a teacher died after a bomb fell on his accomodation..
Activists from Nyala town said 7people from one family lost their in Al-andalos neighborhood following fall of projectile on their residence.
Over 200 civilians have been killed, thousands others wounded in Nyala since eruption of the conflict between the two Generals mid-April.
