The governor of South Darfur had arrived in the city of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, coming from the city of El Daein, the capital of East Darfur state, after leaving Nyala via the city of Buram.

He moved to the city of Al-Nahud with a group of people from the localities of Al-Komah and Umm Kadada, east of Al-Fasher. After arriving in Al-Nahud, the elders of the region advised them to leave four-wheel-drive cars so that they would not be looted on the way, and to use travel buses.
