The Rapid Support Forces( RSF) took control of the 21st Zalingei Division after Seizing the 16th Infantry Division in Nyala last week.
Darfur 24 learned that the Initiative of the People of El Geneina, which includes the Syndicate of Doctors, Imams, Preachers, Native Administration, and community organizations, held a meeting late last night, Monday, with the acting governor of West Darfur, Tijani Karshoum, and informed him of its concern about the reports about the RSF’s intention to seize the army command in the city of El Geneina. .
The sources indicated that the leaders of the initiative believe that the city suffered from a war that lasted for more than two months and left extremely complex humanitarian conditions, and that any further confrontation will make matters worse.
Meanwhile, the sources confirmed that Governor Karshoum informed them of his rejection of any confrontation between the two forces in El Geneina, and explained to them that he asked the armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces to take into account the conditions of the state’s citizens and not repeat the war experience that the city had recently witnessed .
