Al-Fuls, November8 (Darfur 24)The Oilfields Youth Gathering in West Kordofan State have held military intelligence responsible for the killing of engineer Musaed Mohamed Ahmed, a member of the Oilfields Youth Gathering, under torture, and the serious injury of the group’s vice president, Habib Adam Daba, after which he was transferred to Juba, the capital of South Sudan, to receive treatment.

Uday Abdullah, the spokesman for the group, told Darfur 24 that the engineer, Musaed, who works as an engineer at Petronergy Company, and his colleague Habib Adam Daba, were arrested by army intelligence last Monday morning in the Heglig area, 10 kilometers south of “Kilak” locality in West Kordofan state.

Uday added that Military Intelligence tortured them until the assistant engineer died, and then released “Habib Dabba,” who was transferred in critical condition to South Sudan to receive treatment.

The spokesman for the group downplayed the statement of the Oil Sector Workers Association, which he described as being in line with army intelligence, and did not condemn the incident, which is considered a crime and a clear violation of the law, which may worsen the situation in the area, in light of the security fragility that the entire country has been going through since eruption of the conflict between RSF and the Sudanese army.

While the Oil Workers Association said in a statement that Engineer Musaed Muhammad was subjected to excessive torture in the Armed Forces garrison in Heglig by Army Intelligence until he passed away.

The statement explained that Musaed graduated from the College of Petroleum, Sudan University, and worked at the college as an associate professor, before joining 2B Company as a production engineer.
