Member of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Yasser Al-Atta, has slammed the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Chad, accusing them of helping the Rapid Support Forces that have been fighting the Sudanese army since the fifteenth of last April, by supplying it with weapons and equipment.

Addressing a crowd of of army soldiers at the Wadi Sedna military base in Bamdurman on Tuesday Al Atta described the UAE as a country that loves devastation and follows in the footsteps of evil. He added: “The Emirates has a brotherly people and its leader, the founding father Sheikh Zayed, was a state of goodness and giving during his reign, but the successor left behind are evil.”

Al-Atta – who, in addition to being a member of the Sovereignty Council, serves as Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Army – revealed that the Intelligence and Military Intelligence Service had received information that the UAE was flying planes to support the Rapid Support Forces through Entebbe Airport in Uganda and then to Central Africa during Wagner’s control over Central Africa. Wagner’s control over Central Africa ended, and planes began arriving at Chad’s Am Jars airport.

He continued: “Some influential and bribed leaders in Chad facilitated the supplies of the Janjaweed from the Emirates through N’Djamena Airport last week.”

This is the first public statement by a Sudanese official against the UAE and the Republic of Chad regarding the responsibility of the two countries, especially the UAE, to stand by the Rapid Support Forces and supply them with weapons and other equipment.

International organizations have also previously issued reports accusing the UAE of supporting the Rapid Support Forces led by Lieutenant General Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, known as (Hemedti), against the Sudanese army led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council.
