The head of the Libyan National Unity Government, Abdel Hamid Al-Dibia, has invited the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Hamdan “Hemedti,” to visit Tripoli, and also presented an initiative to stop the war in Sudan.

According to the Libyan government’s “Our Government Platform,” the President of the Sovereignty Council and the Army Commander are scheduled to make an official visit to Tripoli this week.

The Libyan News Agency said that the head of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, made a phone call with the commander of the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan, “Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo.”

She indicated that the two parties discussed Al-Dabaiba’s initiative to bring peace and a ceasefire in Sudan, and Al-Dabaiba also extended an invitation to Daglo to visit Libya.

She added: “Daglo expressed his gratitude for this invitation and for Dabaiba’s efforts aimed at supporting security and stability in Sudan, stressing his welcome of the invitation.”

In turn, Hemedti confirmed that he had received a call from Al-Dabaiba and said that he had discussed with him the developments of the situation in Sudan and his vision for resolving the crisis and rebuilding Sudan on new, just foundations.

Hemedti announced his intention to accept Al-Dabaiba’s invitation to visit Libya soon.
