El Fasher, March 2( Darfur 24) Darfur 24 website obtained details regarding the mission of General Yusuf Ahmed Yusuf, known as “Karjakula”, Chief of Staff of the Sudan Liberation Movement Army led by Abdel Wahed Muhammad Nour, in the city of El Fasher, which he arrived during the past days coming from areas under his control in Jebel Marra.

A source in the Sudan Liberation Movement told “Darfur 24” that the number of forces of the Abdel Wahed Nour movement in the city of El Fasher reaches more than a thousand fighters, and 120 combat vehicles with full military equipment, including artillery and anti-aircraft guns.

The source revealed that the primary mission of the force coming from Jebel Marra is to work with the joint forces of the armed movements to protect civilians and the headquarters of international organizations and service institutions.

He denied that the Sudan Liberation Movement, headed by Abdel Wahed Nour, had any military coordination with the Sudanese army or the Rapid Support Forces, but rather was neutral, away from supporting the parties to the conflict.

Engineer Youssef Karjakula, Chief of Staff of the Sudan Liberation Army under the leadership of Abdel Wahed Muhammad Nour, arrived in the city of El Fasher last Saturday afternoon, for the second time, at the head of a military force of more than 70 vehicles with full military equipment, coming from the north and east of Jebel Marra.

Karjkula arrived in the city of El Fasher after an inspection trip to some areas under the movement’s control in North Darfur. He was received by Brigadier General Fadl Suku, a member of the command and control body of the joint force of the armed movements, while the “Karjkula” forces were stationed west of the city of El Fasher.

On November 25 of last year, Karjakula arrived in the city of El Fasher for the first time with a force estimated at more than 74 four-wheel-drive vehicles with full military equipment.

The movement said at the time in a statement that Karjakola came on a social visit to the city and had nothing to do with military action or coordination with any party.

Cars belonging to the Abdel Wahed Nour movement were later seen roaming inside the city of El Fasher and at a number of bases.

The city of El Fasher is witnessing extensive military movements, including securing the headquarters of international and governmental organizations, establishing new outposts in the center, south and west of the city, and digging trenches between the streets of the various neighborhoods.

As clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces continued intermittently daily, thousands of residents fled from the northern and eastern neighborhoods of El Fasher to the southern neighborhoods, Zamzam camp for displaced persons, and neighboring localities.

The Sudanese army’s warplanes intensified their air raids on the city and launched more than three air strikes this February.
