Khartoum , March 20( Darfur 24)On Tuesday, the East Gedaref Criminal Court convicted A. F. M. Y. to 10 years in prison on charges of cooperating with the Rapid Support ForcesRSF.

The Sudan News AgencySUNA said that the ruling came in accordance with Article 65 of the Criminal Law of 1991 related to criminal and terrorist organizations and groups, noting that the court is competent to look into violations of the Rapid Support Forces and their supporters and collaborators.

The details of the case, according to SUNA, are that the convict was recruited as a recruiter with the Rapid Support Forces by one of its members in the city of Al-Shawak in Gedaref State. He joined one of the rebel camps in the Al-Huda neighborhood in the eastern Nile and worked as a cook for the 150-strong force present in the camp.

The agency indicated that “upon the convict’s return to Gedaref, the Second Division’s intelligence was able to arrest him at the entrance to Al-Khayari, and after interrogating him, he admitted to working with the rebel forces, and then a criminal case was registered against him and he was referred to trial.”

On Sunday, the same court issued a death sentence by hanging until death as a discretionary measure against (A, A, A) in order to convict him of cooperating with the Rapid Support Forces. The ruling came in accordance with Article (51) of the Criminal Code of 1991, related to provoking war against the state.

According to “SUNA,” the convict was arrested on December 14, 2023, at the Gedaref Passport Center by the military intelligence team of the army’s Second Infantry Division.

The agency reported that the court that issued the ruling in Gedaref is examining many cases in this regard, and that the prosecution and police files are filled with hundreds of reports related to Rapid Support personnel, their supporters, and their collaborators.
