March 30 , 2020 (Al-Geneina) 8 people were killed and two others injured in a tribal conflict in Al Silk area, south of Al Geneina, West Darfur.
A source told Darfur 24 that armed groups using four-wheel drive vehicles had announced their rebellion against the government after they reached Jebel the Al-Silk area in West Darfur state.
The source indicated that the armed group belonged to the Masalit tribe, adding that the group stated that it had rebelled against the government only, but it had attacked the nomadic Arabs who resided near the Jebel Silk Saturday night, that two of the Arabs were injured, and they were hospitalized at Al-Genaina Hospital.
It has been reported that Arabs gathered on Sunday morning in large numbers, armed with weapons, and attacked the Jabel Al-Silk area.
Meanwhile, a battle between the two parties continued until late hours of Sunday evening, resulting in the killing of 8 people.
Darfur24 correspondent, reported from Al-Geneina that the Governor of West Darfu,r Major General Rabih Abdullah Adam made a surprise visit, by a military helicopter to Habila locality, to which the area of the conflict is under its jursdiction.
