April 15, 2020 (Elfashir) The governor of North Darfur, Major General Malik Al-Tayeb Khojali has issued a decision to lockdown the  state, as of tomorrow, Thursday. However,  the decision exempted  food and petroleum products  carriers, and stressed that no citizen should be carried inside these vehicles except the drivers.

The  decision to lockdown the state,  is  part of the state’s efforts to prevent the spread of   Coronavirus  pandemic.

According to government statistics,  Coronavirus cases  in Sudan have reached 32 , including 4 deaths, all in the capital, Khartoum.

Meanwhile, the federal  government announced lockdown of the capital, Khartoum, starting next Saturday for a period of three weeks.

In a related development. the  Governor of North Darfur state  formed a technical committee to prepare a visualization of the implications for the state in the event of lockdown .He also announced the formation of joint forces to develop security arrangements plan  to deal with any emergency.
