April 16, 2020 (Khartoum) Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk, in his capacity as president of the Supreme Committee for Economic Emergencies, wagered on the ability of the Sudanese people, and the determination and the will of the three components of the transitional authority, to bypass the heavy legacy that the country has  inherited from the thirty years of the rule of the ousted president Omar al-Bashir.

Hamdouk said that the  formation of the economic  committee from the three componenets  of the transitional government was  a true expression of the spirit of partnership.

“The current crisis comes amid  extremely complicated circumstances, where the world is experiencing a war against the Coronavirus pandemic, however,  the Sudanese people and other peoples of the world are able to defeat this epidemic”. Abdallah Hamadouk added.

Hamdouk described the meeting of the Supreme Committee for Economic Emergencies,  chaired by First Vice-President of the Council of Sovereignty, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo Hemeti, as a positive step in the right  direction.  The interim Sudanese prime minister said the meeting also touched on issues related to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Finance over public funds, public sector companies and ports, especially the problems in Port Sudan. The Prime Minister emphasized that the committee meeting constituted an opportunity to reflect on the economic crisis experienced by the Sudanese people, and that the Sudanese revolution came to address these issues, especially the issues of living in all its aspects.
