August 17, 2020 (Khartoum) Khartoum state government has pledged to protect and secure the marches on Monday,August 17, in order to preserve freedoms and peaceful expression.

However, Monday Marches , coincide with the first anniversary of the signing of the dissolved military council and the Forces of Freedom and Change Declaration on a constitutional document on structures and
power-sharing during the transitional period.

Protesters are  demanding  formation of the Legislative Council, restructuring of the security services and the prosecution of the symbols of the former regime and those who caused the dispersal of the
sit-in of the Army General Command in Khartoum in June 2019.

Meanwhile , Khartoum state government affirmed, in a statement today, seen by Darfur 24, that it would fully  cooperate with all components of the revolution, based on trust to preserve  dignity of the citizen and work together to achieve  goals of the glorious revolution.

The constitutional document stipulated ,  composition of Legislative Councils, three months after the start of the transitional period, but they have not been formed to this day, despite passage of a year since
the transitional government  was formed.
