August 17, 2020 -The transitional  government and the Sudan People’s
Liberation Movement led my Malik Agar today signed in initials the
protocol for security arrangements.

Lieutenant General Khaled Abdeen has signed on behalf of the
government, and Lieutenant General Ahmed Al-Omda, Chief of Staff of
the People’s Army has signed on behalf of the SPLM.
The signing ceremony was attended by leaders of the Revolutionary
Front, the UAE delegation, the sponsor of the negotiation, and the
Chadian delegation.

Spokesman for the government negotiation delegation, Mohamed Hassan
Al-Taishi, said in a statement that the parties are taking confident
and solid steps, towards achieving a comprehensive and sustainable
peace agreement with all the forces involved in the negotiations in
the Juba platform, that addresses the basic problems of the war and
puts a final end to violence and imbalance in the management of Sudan.

Al-Taishi has  renewed the Sudanese government’s stated position on
the peaceful solution negotiated with all partners in the armed
struggle forces, adding that peace is the key to development and
stability.
