November 11, 2020 (Khartoum) the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, said that he held a historic meeting with his Sudanese counterpart Omar Siddiq, in order to “translate peace between the two countries into action”.

In a tweet, the Israeli ambassador said Wednesday, “We will start cooperating together in agriculture and water, and combating Corona viru .

Israel and Sudan had earlier agreed to take steps to establish ties in an agreement brokered by the United States..

Senior US officials said that US President Donald Trump concluded the agreement, in a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok and Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.

Hebrew and Sudanese sources revealed, on Tuesday, that an Israeli delegation would visit Khartoum, on Sunday, as part of the normalization process between the two countries.

The (official) Hebrew Broadcasting Corporation said, Tuesday, that “an Israeli delegation will visit Khartoum on Sunday in the context of consolidating the process of normalizing relations between the two countries.”

It quotes an informed, unnamed Israeli source, as saying that “the delegation will include employees in certain professional fields, and it will not include politicians.”
