December 1, 2020 (Nyala) The government of South Darfur has declared a state of health emergency to confront the spread of the Coronavirus.

The decision directed government and private institutions to tighten health precautionary measures and to oblige their employees to wear masks, and to provide hand washing facilities, in addition to reducing employees in government and private institutions to 50%.

Since the emergence of Coronavirus in Sudan last March, South Darfur state recorded 41 cases, the last of which was one case recorded two weeks ago in Nyala, the state capital.
