18.11.2021 -(Nyala) Security forces shot at least 15 people and wounded dozens as thousands of Sudanese took to the streets on Wednesday ,the deadliest day of demonstrations against the military rule ,medics said.
The protesters marching against an Oct 25 coup a cross the capital and cities of Bahri and Omdurman , demanding a full handover to civilian authority, and for the leaders of the Oct 25 coup to be out on trial..
Security forces fried live rounds and tear gas to prevent gathering in all the three cities and mobile phone communication were cut, witness said .
State TV said three were injured among protesters and police.
In response , protesters built extensive barricade emptying the streets of traffic, according to Reuters.
Earlier, on a main road in Khartoum , protesters burnt tyres and chanted ,” the people are stronger and retreat is Impossible”
Others carried pictures of people killed in previous protests and of Abdallah Hamdok , the civilian prime minster who was put under house arrest.
Security forces were heavily deployed on main roads and bridges across the River Nile were closed
