Khartoum, Feb 6(Darfur24) On Friday, the International Criminal Court resolved  controversy that arose over the evidence against the ousted Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir and his Defense Minister Abdel Rahim Muhammad Hussein, following the report submitted by the Prosecutor General of the Court, Karim Khan, to the Security Council last month.

The court confirmed that the arrest warrants against the wanted persons are still in effect and there is no decision taken regarding their withdrawal, according to Al Bayan newspaper.

Spokesman for the International Criminal Court, Fadi Abdullah, said in an audio recording distributed on WhatsApp, according to the newspaper, that the Prosecutor submitted a report to the Security Council and confirmed his intention to strengthen the evidence he has regarding cases related to Al-Bashir and his defense minister.

He explained that what the ICC Prosecutor  said during his presentation of his report to the Security Council was that he wanted to advance investigations related to Darfur in Sudan, and to obtain additional evidence, especially in cases related to Al-Bashir and Hussein, especially since the previous regime, when Al-Bashir was its president, refused to cooperate with the Court and with the Office of claim.

ICC spokesperson  stressed that the arrest warrants are still in effect today, and that no decision has been taken regarding their withdrawal
