Nyala, June 13(Darfur24) On Sunday, the Fallata and Rizeigat tribes
signed a reconciliation document between them to end years of fighting
that claimed hundreds of lives and burned a number of villages.

The closing ceremony of the peace initiative between the two tribes
was witnessed by the governor of the Darfur region, Minni Arko Minawi,
the second leader of the rapid support, the governors of the five
Darfur states, a crowd of tribal leaders in Darfur as well as
community leaders from the  two tribes.

The reconciliation came at the initiative of the sons of the Fallata
and Rizeigat tribes in the Rapid Support Forces.

The head of the initiative, Brigadier General Hussein Manzoul, said
that the members of the rapid support forces  from the two tribes saw
the need to stop the fighting between their tribes , so they presented
an initiative to stop the bloodshed between the two tribes.

He added: The committees were able to reach their families in all
areas affected by the war, and they agreed to reconciliation and an
end to the conflict between the two tribes in the two states.

He stated that the initiative differs from the previous peace
conferences in that it brought together the actors in tribal disputes,
the colonels and princes from the two tribes, and they reached peace.
