El-Fashir, August 9(Darfur24) 3 displaced people from Zamzam IDP  camp were killed and five others were wounded  in clashes with gunmen in the village of Umm Hashab, 25 km southwest of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur.

 

For two days, the area southwest of the city of El Fasher has been witnessing tensions between herders and farmers triggered by the  looting of 60 camels.

 

Government forces in Zamzam camp for the displaced people IDPs led negotiations with the herders, which led to the handing over of the kidnapped to their families after returning the looted camels that were found east of Zamzam IDP camp .

 

While the Executive Director of the Zamzam Administrative Unit, Ibrahim Ismail Nasr Al-Din, confirmed the killing of two people and the injury of five others as a result of the incident, noting that they were able to hand over  the looted camels to their owners, and return the kidnapped.

 

The villages around the Koolgi area continued to witness constant conflicts between herders and farmers, amid accusations of the North Darfur government’s inability to provide security in the area.
