Kadugli, December 14(Darfur 24) Five people were killed and others injured today, Wednesday, as a result of tribal violence between the Hawazma tribe and the Abbasiya tribe in Abu Kershola locality, South Kordofan state.

 

The executive director of the Abu Kershola locality, Muhammad Adam al-Taher, told Darfur 24 that the incident took place against the background of the killing of a citizen in the village of Khor al-Tina by unknown persons in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

 

He added: “After the incident, group of men from the Hawazmeh tribe traced the  perpetrators on the Al-Rahad-Abu Karshola road until they entered into armed confrontations with the residents of the village of Khor al-Tina, who are from the Abbasiya tribe, which resulted in the death of five people from both sides and the wounding of others”.

 

Al-Taher explained that the situation in the locality returned to calm after the intervention of the security forces and deployment of troops  in the incident’s area .
