Elfashir, August 15(Darfur 24)The bloody clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces RSF in city of Nyala, the provincial capital of South Darfur state, forced nearly 5 thousands civilians to flee to Elfashir in North Darfur.

The fleeing civilians are facing dire economic and humanitarian situations in light of the host community’s poverty and the absence of the NGOs and UN agencies from the scene.

The Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces RSF have been fighting since mid-April over disagreement to integrate the RSF into the Sudanese army, three thousands people have been killed, more than 4 millions displaced or crossed borders, according to the UN.

United Nations announced Monday that violence in Nyala, the provincial capital of South Darfur state forced 20 thousands people to flee their homes.

UN Office for the coordination of humanitarian affairs in Sudan OCHA”, according to IOM the preliminary reports that clashes between army and RSF in Nyala forced 20 thousands to flee their residence in city centre and take shelter in the vicinity of Nyala city.

The governor of North Darfur state Nimir Mohamed Abdelrahman held emergency meeting Tuesday with members of his government whereby they discussed the humanitarian situation in the state besides, the situation of internally displaced persons IDPs who have recently come from Nyala..

Chairman of supreme council for culture and information, spokesperson of North Darfur government, Dr.Zakaria Adam Alrasheed said the meeting reviewed a number of issues , such as the Humanitarian and health situation as well as the fate of people fleeing the war.
