Nyala, 18September (Darfur24)The Ministry of Health in South Darfur state has called on the joint force of armed struggle movements to liaise with the warring parties ( Army and RSF in Nyala, to move away from the vicinity of the Nyala Specialized Hospital, where the only dialysis center in the state is located.

Acting Director General of the Ministry, Abbas Hassan ,who headed the Ministry’s delegation on its visit to the Joint Forces headquarters in Nyala ,said that the dialysis center is the only one in the city that patients cannot tolerate stopping for a single day.

The Ministry’s Director General described the health situation in Nyala as catastrophic.

The war between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces RSF in the city of Nyala led to widespread destruction of health facilities in the state, as all medicine stores in the city were looted, in addition to some government and private pharmacies, in addition to the suspension of most hospitals from service, except for the Turkish hospital, which is facing great pressure and the accumulation of large numbers of patients as a result of the ongoing fighting between the army and the RSF.

The armed struggle movements that signed the Juba Peace Agreement three years ago, sent a joint force late last August to contribute to protecting citizens and some sites in the city of Nyala after the latter witnessed a fierce war between the army and the Rapid Support firces that led to the killing of hundreds of civilians and the displacement of thousands to the cities of El Fasher and El Daein in North and East Darfur.

The Joint Force said on its official Facebook page that it had agreed with the delegation of the Ministry of Health and the youth of Al-Nahda neighborhood to introduce the surgical service to Al-Nahda Hospital after the delegation visited it and examined its needs, and in the sense that it is the safest hospital in the area where the Joint Force is deployed.
