A local committee aimed at supporting the Sudanese army and armed struggle forces to protect the city of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, revealed a proposal submitted by the stacked member of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council. The committee member, who preferred to withhold his name, stated that the meeting with Hajar discussed a number of issues related to the protection of civilians, most notably the exclusion of the army and the Rapid Support from the city and the handing over of leadership of the Sixth Division of the Joint Force of Movements, before he proposed assigning Lieutenant General Juma Haggar, Commander-in-Chief of the Sudan Liberation Movement, Minawi’s wing, to lead it.
