March 3, 2020 (Khartoum) Italian Deputy Foreign Minister, Emmanuela del Rey, will arrive in the country on Tuesday evening, accompanied by a delegation of senior officials from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The visiting Italian delegation, will hold talks with Sudanese officials on the relations between Sudan and Italy and the future prospects of bilateral cooperation.
However, the visit also aimed at examining the developments of political and social situations in Sudan ,after success of the Sudanese revolution.
The Italian official is expected to hold talks with the President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, and Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk as well as Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Economic Planning and Health.
The visit will witness the resumption of political consultation work between the two countries, through holding the meetings of the Political Consultation Committee between Sudan and Italy on Thursday.
The two parties will also be discussing all aspects related to bilateral relations between the two countries .
Del Rey confirmed last September, her country’s steadfast support for the ongoing political process in Sudan, as Sudan is Italy’s strategic partner in Africa.
During the meeting that brought together the Sudanese foreign minister with her Italian counterpart at the sidelines of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Sudanese Foreign Minister, Asma Mohamed Abdullah, stated that Italy attaches great importance to Sudan’s stability.
