April 11, 2020 (Khartoum) Sudan’s Minister of Justice, Dr. Nasr El-Din Abdel-Bari, has stated that the measures taken by the government to confiscate the money stolen by some leaders of the former regime , will not exempt them from accountability.
The Committee for the Eradication of Empowerment and the Fight against Corruption, has recovered 99 plots of land from former Foreign Minister Ali Ahmed Karti and 32 plots of land from the former police comissioner , Hashim Othman al-Hussein, who was also director of the office of the ousted president.
However, the committee also announced the recovery of two plots of land from former Minister of Agriculture Abdel Halim Al-Mutafi.
The Committee for Eradication of Empowerment,issued a decision at a press conference held on Friday evening, recovering plots of land from the members of Albashir regime.
The recovered assets will be registered in the name of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning.
