May 3, 2020 (Khartoum) Dozens of supporters of the ousted president, Omar al-Bashir, demonstrated  on Sunday in several Sudanese cities, including the capital, Khartoum, against establishment of a proposed   United Nations political mission in Sudan.

However,  the mission is expected to arrive in the country at the request of the Sudanese government.

Meanwhile, in the city of Al-Daein, the capital of East Darfur State, about a hundred people from the elements  of the ousted National Congress Party, took to the streets on Sunday  protesting  against the UN mission.

The angry protesters carried banners reading “No foreign interference and “No new colonialism” in Sudan.

The demonstrations came one day after Sudan’s cabinet had warned of suspicious moves by elements of the ousted president.

Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk had  previously requested  the United Nations to send a civil political mission under chapter VI of the United Nations Charter, to help the transitional government  overcome the challenges.
