September 16, 2020 (Khartoum) Attorney General Taj Al-Sir Ali Al-Haber announced  Wednesday,  the arrest of a terrorist cell consisting of 41 members, who had enough explosives to blow up the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.

Speaking at a press conference, the Attorney General said  the seized explosives  were  are similar to the ones that exploded in the port of Beirut in Lebanon recently, adding that this cell would have posed a
threat to neighboring countries.

Al-Haber confirmed that investigations are being conducted with the accused on a large scale, who he said represent the most dangerous and largest explosives cell seized in Sudan.

For their part , the police said that the seized items included 2,500 capsules packed with ammonium nitrate and could be exploded.

In a related context, the spokesman for the RSF, Brigadier General Jamal Jumaa, explained that the explosives include 850 TNT plates, 3594 blasting caps, 13 tape rolls, and 4 nitrate powder sacks.

Jamal Jumaa said that part of the seized explosives was used in an attempt to blow up the motorcade of Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdouk, last March.
