October 16, 2020 (Nyala) Ministry of Health in South Darfur state has announced 8 cases of chikungunya fever.
Acting Director General of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Elias Abaker, said in press statements that  8 cases of chikungunya fever had been reported in South Darfur, including 5 cases in Nyala locality south
and two cases in Nyala locality, North, in addition to one case in
Mershing locality.

These days, chikungunya fever is widespread in the states of Darfur, where West Darfur State recorded hundreds of infections and North Darfur 11 cases, in light of the inability of government health
institutions to deal with the disease.

Director General of the Ministry called on all citizens to ensure that they continue to use mosquito nets, wash pots of drinking water regularly, and dry the places of mosquito breeding to eliminate
disease vectors.

Ministry of Health urged the citizens of the state to immediately inform the nearest health units and hospitals in case of fever.
