El-Geneina , Feb 22 (Darfur24)  Darfur24 has monitored removal  of military checkpoints  from the areas that witnessed tribal fighting in the city of El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur State, amid fears of a loose security situation.

Following the tribal fighting  that took place in the city of El Geneina last April, the security services had deployed more than 45 military posts in the Krinding IDP camp and Aljabal neighborhoods .

The state government failed to return the victims of tribal violence to their homes that they left because of the fighting, they  are currently taking government institutions as shelters.

Citizens of El-Geneina city  expressed  fears that some intruders would exploit the security vacuum left by the withdrawal of forces, and restore security chaos again.

Media Office of the Governor of West Darfur State  said   removing  some of the military checkpoints  around the city of El Geneina should not be a loophole for the explosion of the security situation.
