Khartoum, April 15(Darfur24) US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken described the situation in Khartoum as disturbing due to the armed confrontations between the army and the Rapid Support Forces.

 

On Saturday morning, clashes erupted between the armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces, led by the head of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and his deputy, Lieutenant General Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, and the confrontations extended to several locations in the capital, Khartoum, and the military base in Marawi, Northern State.

 

At a time when the US embassy in Khartoum called on the leaders of the army and the Rapid Support Forces to urgently stop the fighting between them.

 

The US Ambassador to Khartoum, Mr. John Godfrey, said in a tweet on the embassy’s account that the escalation of tension within the military component to direct combat is a very dangerous matter.
