Khartoum, June 14, ( Darfur24) The rapid support forces ( RSF) has called for an independent investigation into the deadly clashes that have taken place in El-Geneina, west Darfur over the past six weeks.
In a statement seen by Darfur 24, RSF, said it was keen from the outset of the conflict on April 15 , to concentrate the war in Khartoum and distance other parts of Sudan from the hell of the conflict, mainly the volatile region of Darfur which has suffered alot from war, marginalization and destruction that led to division and fragmentation in its social fabric.
Over the past few weeks , El-geneina has witnessed deadly clashes that left one thousand people dead, thousands injured and tens of thousands internally displaced.
According to the statement, RSF negotiating delegation in Jeddah, has repeatedly requested the Sudanese army to agree on reopening El-Geneina airport to facilitate delivery and distribution of humanitarian aid to the needy residents.
RSF also appealed to all segments of the Sudanese society , mainly the people of Darfur, to ignore calls and incitement of engagement into civil war, but rather promote values of peaceful coexistence.
